Week 8 Byes: Chicago Bears (Josh McCown), Tennessee Titans (Jake Locker), Indianapolis Colts (Andrew Luck), San Diego Chargers (Philip Rivers), Baltimore Ravens (Joe Flacco), and Houston Texans (Case Keenum)

Last week’s two out of three QB2 streaming options were hit and miss, with Jay Cutler’s injury, and Nick Foles’ ineffectiveness going on the misses side.

The Chicago Bears, and his 2-QB owners, lost Cutler for at least the next four weeks, possibly more, after he left Week 7’s game with a torn groin. Nick Foles also left the Eagles’ game last week with a concussion, but he might have been pulled regardless, with his atrocious play.

Mike Glennon was the sole QB2 streamer “winner” from last week’s pinpointed QB2 streamers, finishing the week as the 12th highest scoring fantasy quarterback.

While the end results weren’t positive, the information at hand, leading to the decision was sound, and every week fantasy football leads to many hits and misses. All we can do is keep trying.

I know last week I mentioned how I would highlight at least three potential QB2 streaming options in store for a good week, but with six teams on bye this week, and with many QB2 options playing in tough match-ups, our QB2 options are a tad limited for Week 8.

However, there are two QB2 streamers of choice this week we can look to for QB2 streaming purposes, and hopefully they will finish with a good fantasy day. Before we go to this week’s QB2 streaming options, you can view my complete quarterback rankings for 2-QB leagues by clicking on this article.

Week 8 QB2 Streaming Circle of Trust

Terrelle Pryor
Pryor is the only true QB2 ranked in the QB1 tier this week for me, automatically vaulting him to the top of the QB2 streaming list.

The worry with Pyror two weeks ago, in a match-up versus the Kansas City Chiefs, was that his fairy godmother was waiting to turn him back into a pumpkin, and take back his glass sneakers.

While Pyror did make some mistakes, throwing three interceptions, he did put up 10+ fantasy points, giving Pryor owners hope that he might be “match-up” proof.

Returning from a Week 7 bye things don’t get easy for Pryor, with a match-up versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on the docket.

On the year, the Steelers have given up the second fewest passing yards, and have only allowed five passing touchdowns on the year, with Matt Cassel the only quarterback to throw for more than one touchdown.

If you’re starting Pryor this week, hoping he make things happen with his legs to score fantasy points is what you’ll want to bank on, as he faces a defense allowing 109.3 rushing yards per game. Only 51 of those rushing yards have come from quarterbacks this year though, but it’s safe to say the Steelers haven’t faced a rushing quarterback of Pryor’s skill.

Carson Palmer
I have Palmer ranked at QB13 this week, thisclose to being included in the QB1 tier, and it is all because of his match-up versus the Atlanta Falcons.

On the season, the Falcons have allowed each quarterback they have faced to score at least two touchdowns, and they have given up three 300+ passing yard performances. If Geno Smith had been able to throw for one more yard in Week 5, the Falcons would have allowed at least 200 passing yards in each game this season.

Not only have the Falcons allowed 14 passing touchdowns in six games, but they only have three interceptions, and 14 sacks on the year.

Palmer is coming off a rough stretch of games, and his reward is a plus match-up versus a Falcons team that has had trouble holding quarterbacks in check, with the fewest standard fantasy points they have given up being 15.14 to Ryan Tannehill.

Week 8 Streaming Circle of Trust Friendship Bracelet Consideration

Eli Manning, and Geno Smith are also worth considering as QB2 streamers this week, if Pryor and Palmer aren’t viable options for you.

Eli faces the Philadelphia Eagles, a defense giving up an average of 324.5 passing yards per game, and that has allowed 14 passing touchdowns this year, which includes one game where Alex Smith didn’t throw a touchdown.

Geno goes up against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that just lost its top corner, Leon Hall, for the season, and that has been picked apart by Thaddeus Lewis and Matthew Stafford the last two weeks.

It will be hard for the Bengals to stop the bleeding this week, after losing Hall, giving Geno a chance to build on the Jets’ Week 7 victory versus the Patriots. Be warned though, as Geno has a good game/bad game pattern this year, and Week 8 would mean Geno is in store for a “bad game”, if you believe in that sort of fantasy JuJu.
