Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Value Plays and Lineup – February 27

On DraftStreet, there is a $100,000 cap, which is used for eight players; three forwards, three guards, a center, and a utility player. In terms of value, should a player cost $15,000, incredible value would be 45 fantasy points. Unlike other daily sites, playing for five times value is not the goal here, as it is nearly impossible to find on a consistent basis. As a $100K salary cap would yield about 225-255 fantasy points for a good night, the best value is normally 2.25 or higher. Anything above 2.25 is a great value.

If you have not played over at DraftStreet, be sure to check the scoring system first, as it varies from other sites. Head over to make your deposit and start playing tonight!

DraftStreet Scoring: PTS: 1 pt, REB: 1.25 pt, AST: 1.5 pt, TO: -1 pt, Missed FT: -0.5 pt, Missed FG: -0.5 pt, STL: 2 pt, BLK: 2pt.

There is only a four-game slate today in the NBA. Get your lineups in as soon as possible. Small slates are an easy way to make some cash, as it takes more to find the gems.

Value Plays

Guard

Tim Hardaway Jr., NYK ($7,458)

With just four games tonight, the guard pool is really dry, but since Hardaway has averaged over 30 minutes per game this month, he is a steal at $7.4K. Good value for the former Wolverine is around 18 fantasy points, which is attainable but he has not reached that plateau in his last three games. Hardaway and the Knicks face the Heat tonight, and the last time these two teams faced off, Tim Hardaway Jr. was able to accrue 17.25 fantasy points. Expect a similar effort tonight.

Forward

Jan Vesely, DEN ($6,948)

NBA fans have been waiting for the day that Vesely would get on the court. With the recent trade to the Nuggets, he has been able to do just that. In three games since, he is averaging 15 fantasy points per game, which is decent value at just under $7K. Tonight, the Nuggets take on the Brooklyn Nets, who are not going to shut anyone down. Expect Vesely to get 15-20 minutes and continue to put up a fantasy point per minute. Should he get over 20 minutes Vesely could be a great value.

Center

Ian Mahinmi, IND ($6,948)

It is not often that you will see a backup center on a value column. But tonight, that is what Mahinmi is, value. The Pacers take on the Bucks who have struggled against centers in fantasy because of their lack of rebounding skill. The Pacers could also blow out the Milwaukee Bucks, meaning more minutes for Mahinmi. A double-double from a backup center is rare, but Mahinmi could do that tonight with a favorable matchup.

Optimized Lineup

G – Tim Hardaway Jr. NYK ($7,458)

G – DeMar DeRozan TOR ($14,002)

G – John Wall WSH ($17,944)

F – Jan Vesely DEN ($6,948)

F – Trevor Ariza WSH ($13,996)

F – Evan Turner IND ($10,241)

C – Ian Mahinmi IND ($6,948)

U – Carmelo Anthony NYK ($21,937)

Good luck tonight, and be sure to check the starting lineups before tip to be aware of any changes.
