Will he or won’t he? After it was believed that Jared Allen was going to sign with the Seattle Seahawks early Thursday following his second visit with the team, the report was retracted. According to ESPN, the veteran pass rusher will use this weekend to contemplate the offer and ultimately make a decision.

Allen has now visited the Pacific Northwest twice, and the fact that there was a reported agreement between the two sides is a positive sign for the defending Super Bowl champions. The other team in the Allen race, the Dallas Cowboys, are likely out of contention. Reports indicated the Cowboys were deciding between Allen or Henry Melton, and the team chose the latter.

Kenny Britt has generated a pretty good amount of interest on the free-agent market, and another potential suitor has emerged. In an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio, Britt’s agent, Pat Dye, said the Buffalo Bills have also been in contact with the veteran wide receiver.

Britt has already made visits to the New England Patriots, Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams, and has been contacted by the Carolina Panthers. Dye has said his client is willing to play on a short-term deal in an effort to get Britt more playing time in order to help restore his value, likely so he can make his next contract an even longer, richer one.

The free-agent running back front has been very quiet. Maurice Jones-Drew left the Pittsburgh Steelers vicinity twice without a contract. Now Knowshon Moreno is drawing interest.

The former Denver Broncos first-round pick is set to visit the Miami Dolphins Friday, which is believed to be his first official visit of free agency. Given the lack of interest in Moreno and the veteran running backs, his price is likely on its way down. Miami’s backfield includes Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas, so adding Moreno would certainly be an upgrade.
