Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Value Plays and Lineup – March 25

On DraftStreet, there is a $100,000 cap, which is used for eight players; three forwards, three guards, a center, and a utility player. In terms of value, should a player cost $15,000, incredible value would be 45 fantasy points. Unlike other daily sites, playing for five times value is not the goal here, as it is nearly impossible to find on a consistent basis. As a $100K salary cap would yield about 225-255 fantasy points for a good night, the best value is normally 2.25 or higher. Anything above 2.25 is a great value.

If you have not played over at DraftStreet, be sure to check the scoring system first, as it varies from other sites. Head over to make your deposit and start playing tonight!

DraftStreet Scoring: PTS: 1 pt, REB: 1.25 pt, AST: 1.5 pt, TO: -1 pt, Missed FT: -0.5 pt, Missed FG: -0.5 pt, STL: 2 pt, BLK: 2pt.

There is a four-game slate today in the NBA. Get your lineups in as soon as possible.

Value Plays

Guard

Mo Williams POR ($7,435)

Williams is not the most consistent player in fantasy basketball, and that will cause many owners to shy away from him, but tonight the former Alabama star is primed for a big game. Coming off one of his better performances of the season (25.5 fantasy points) and shooting 21/47 (just under 45 percent) over his last five games, he has been playing his best basketball as of late. Tonight the Trailblazers will take on the Orlando Magic, just the matchup for a player starting to get hot. The Magic have allowed over 100 points in all but two games this month and have given up over 105 six times. With Mo Williams taking just under 10 shots a game, he can be expected to score at least 15 points as the Magic allow the second worst three point percentage in the NBA at 37.5 percent. If he can make two three pointers, and shoot his average from the last five games (45 percent) that would bring him to roughly 5 made field goals. Should two of them be three pointers, that brings Williams to a total of 12 points scored. Add that to Williams’ incredible free throw percentage of 88 percent, and his ability to get to the hoop and we are already considering a floor of a round 15 points scored. Combine that with a few assists and rebounds and there is almost no way he cannot reach at least good value of 15 fantasy points. Not bad for a short slate guard.

Forward

Jordan Hill LAL ($13,965)

Seeing Jordan Hill and a $14K price tag just doesn’t excite anyone. But, on a short slate and seeing how Hill has performed since returning from injury, he is tough to ignore. Now, two games is a small sample size, but in these two contests, Hill has 71.75 fantasy points which include 37 points and 27 rebounds. Tonight the Lakers take on the New York Knicks, who have one of the better defending centers in the NBA in Tyson Chandler, but seeing as Hill has been the primary big man for the Lakers and with Pau Gasol expected to be out, Hill is a (gulp) bargain at $14K.

Center

Tyson Chandler NYK ($12,970)

Enter big men against the Los Angeles Lakers. That seems like a commonplace in the daily fantasy basketball community, but it is bad practice to not start a big man against the Lakers. Los Angeles’ rebound percentage is an abysmal 45.6 percent, which is the worst, by far, in the NBA. Each and every starting center can be assumed to reach 10 rebounds, but a player like Tyson Chandler who is averaging over 10 for the season, almost 15 rebounds can be expected. With Chandler’s price tag set at $13K, great value would be anything over 32 fantasy points. Considering how bad the Lakers are on the boards, Chandler could reach at least half that number without scoring a single point. Fifteen rebounds, two assists, and two blocks is a total of 25.75 fantasy points, if Chandler can score just seven points with that line, that brings him right to great value. Get Chandler into your lineup tonight.

Optimized Lineup

F – Jordan Hill LAL ($13,965)

Good luck tonight, and be sure to check the starting lineups before tip to be aware of any changes.
