Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Value Plays and Lineup – April 8

On DraftStreet, there is a $100,000 cap, which is used for eight players; three forwards, three guards, a center, and a utility player. In terms of value, should a player cost $15,000, incredible value would be 45 fantasy points. Unlike other daily sites, playing for five times value is not the goal here, as it is nearly impossible to find on a consistent basis. As a $100K salary cap would yield about 225-255 fantasy points for a good night, the best value is normally 2.25 or higher. Anything above 2.25 is a great value.

If you have not played over at DraftStreet, be sure to check the scoring system first, as it varies from other sites. Head over to make your deposit and start playing tonight!

DraftStreet Scoring: PTS: 1 pt, REB: 1.25 pt, AST: 1.5 pt, TO: -1 pt, Missed FT: -0.5 pt, Missed FG: -0.5 pt, STL: 2 pt, BLK: 2pt.

There is a six-game slate today in the NBA. Get your lineups in as soon as possible.

Value Plays

Guard

Patty Mills SA ($8,706)

With Tony Parker all but out for tonight, Mills will be the guard with the increased playing time. Since he is only $8.7K, great value would be anything north of 25 fantasy points. Mills has reached double-digit fantasy points in nine straight games including three games with excellent value of three times tonight’s salary. With Parker out, Mills could see close to thirty minutes, and against the Timberwolves who have allowed well over 100 points per game in the last month, tonight is a perfect matchup for a cheap guard. Get Mills into your lineups as he will be one of the high-volume plays across the daily fantasy industry.

Forward

Terrence Jones HOU ($12,630)

If you are a regular to this column, you know what the Lakers can bring to a daily fantasy matchup. With a rebound percentage of under 46 percent and at the pace they play (90 shots allowed and 85 taken per game) that gives opposing rebounders an incredible advantage. Jones will be one of those players who has the opportunity for 10 rebounds tonight, but Jones can also score. With the Lakers giving up 109 points per game, that is another good number for the likelihood of Jones’ success. The former Kentucky Wildcat will play close to 30 minutes tonight, and could easily see a double-double. At $12.6K, that is a bargain.

Center

Omer Asik HOU ($13,020

Keep an eye on the Rockets starting lineup, if Dwight Howard cannot go, Omer Asik becomes a must play. In the last five games with Howard sidelined, Asik has contributed 84 rebounds and 60 points for an average of 12 points and just under 17 rebounds per game. That line gives Asik 30 fantasy points right away. Considering his price at $13K, 30 fantasy points would be great value. But, the scary part is Asik’s opponent is the Los Angeles Lakers who as we all know rank at the bottom of the league in terms of rebounding percentage and 29th in defense. Could Asik see a 20-20 game tonight? That is tough to project, but if Dwight Howard is out and the score remains somewhat close that should not be out of the question.

Optimized Lineup

G – Danny Green SA ($7,325)

G – Jeremy Lin HOU ($11,293)

G – James Harden HOU ($19,423)

F – Chandler Parsons HOU ($14,613)

F – Terrence Jones HOU ($12,630)

F – Kawhi Leonard SA ($12,952)

C – Omer Asik HOU ($13,020)

U – Patty Mills SA ($8,706)

Good luck tonight, and be sure to check the starting lineups before tip to be aware of any changes.
