Daily Fantasy Hockey DFS Value Update – April 25

Rick Nash

Dallas Stars at Anaheim Ducks

This series looks a lot different now than it did earlier this week as Ryan Getzlaf missed Game 4 with what seems like a recurring jaw injury, Stephane Robidas is out for the playoffs, and Teemu Selanne was a healthy scratch in the previous contest. What was possibly a sweep in the making has turned into a bar brawl-type series between these two former divisional foes.

The Stars have been able to score consistently this series and that’s good news for DFS. While the power play has been somewhat underwhelming (2-for-17), the team has been getting to the net against Frederik Andersen. One thing that the Stars have been doing that has helped their offense is getting the defense involved as Jordie Benn, Trevor Daley, and Alex Goligoski all have two points each.

The Ducks are reeling a bit and they will be in trouble if Ryan Getzlaf is not available for Game 5. They’ve already had to make a change in net (usually not a good thing) and going without their top center – who is one of the best in the game – will make things worse. Mathieu Perreault filled in as the top line center for the Ducks and Patrick Maroon was on the top line for that game as well. That second name could provide a lot of value as long as he stays on the top line.

Getzlaf’s availability will make a big difference in this game. Without him in the lineup, I would be tempted to stack the top line from Dallas here. If he can go, I would just be looking at value plays from both sides.
