Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftStreet Value Plays and Lineup – May 20

On DraftStreet, there is a $100,000 cap, which is used for eight players; three forwards, three guards, a center, and a utility player. In terms of value, should a player cost $15,000, incredible value would be 45 fantasy points. Unlike other daily sites, playing for five times value is not the goal here, as it is nearly impossible to find on a consistent basis. As a $100K salary cap would yield about 225-255 fantasy points for a good night, the best value is normally 2.25 or higher. Anything above 2.25 is a great value.

If you have not played over at DraftStreet, be sure to check the scoring system first, as it varies from other sites. Head over to make your deposit and start playing tonight!

DraftStreet Scoring: PTS: 1 pt, REB: 1.25 pt, AST: 1.5 pt, TO: -1 pt, Missed FT: -0.5 pt, Missed FG: -0.5 pt, STL: 2 pt, BLK: 2pt.

Welcome to NBA Daily Fantasy in the playoffs. The way it works is a two-day slate, giving each player in the postseason an opportunity to play one game. For example, if the Spurs play on day X, and the Heat on day Y, both days are included in one salary game. So it is a TWO-game slate. Set your lineups as soon as possible.

Value Plays

Guard

Ray Allen MIA ($8,271)

Allen is one of the safer plays in daily fantasy so far this month, as he has scored less than 18.25 fantasy points just once in six games. His price tag of $8.2K is low because he is averaging 2.5 times his salary, which is great value in itself. When a player averages great value, he is a near must-play in daily fantasy. But considering Allen is one of the cheaper plays at this stage in a short slate, his value increases even more. There are only five guards who average more than 20 fantasy points per game in the last 15 days, and Allen is one of them. Not bad for just $8.2K.

Forward

Kawhi Leonard SA ($14,795)

Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and then Kawhi Leonard. What do the four of these have in common? The only players who average 32 fantasy points per game or more in the last two weeks. The only difference is, the other three are averaging over 40 per game. That leaves Leonard in a tier by himself, which makes him an attractive play in daily fantasy. In his last game against the Thunder, he accrued 28.5 fantasy points, but that was his lowest in the last three games and only his second lowest since May 5. Expect Leonard to be one of the constants for the Spurs, which is tough to predict, so add him to your lineup and expect at least two times his salary, which makes for good value.

Center

Roy Hibbert IND ($11,902)

With just four teams remaining, there are not a lot of choices at center. The top two in terms of salary and fantasy points per game are Chris Bosh and Hibbert. So why chose Hibbert? He costs $400 less against the cap, but is actually averaging more fantasy points per game than Bosh in the last 15 days. Bosh averages 22.62 fantasy points per game, whereas Hibbert is at 22.89. In the first game against the Heat, Hibbert contributed 19 points, nine rebounds, and three assists for 29.75 fantasy points. The Pacers will need him to do the same tonight if they want to take a commanding lead in the series. Expect Hibbert to be the focal point again, as the Heat struggle against big men. Get Hibbert into your lineup as the top center for tonight.

Optimized Lineup

G – Dwyane Wade MIA ($14,406)

G – Marco Belinelli SA ($5,864)

G – Ray Allen MIA ($8,271)

F – Paul George IND ($17,398)

F – Tim Duncan SA ($15,176)

F – Kawhi Leonard SA ($14,795)

C – Roy Hibbert IND ($11,902)

U – Manu Ginobili SA ($11,283)

Good luck tonight, and be sure to check the starting lineups before tip to be aware of any changes.
