Daily Fantasy Hockey: DFS DraftKings Values – December 6

Stamkos

The only teams that played last night who also play tonight are Chicago and Montreal, which is a stark contrast to last when 16 teams did so. With the Habs on the road and heading to face a Dallas team that can explode offensively, it could be a long night for the Canadiens.

The biggest favorites are the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers. Beyond them, no team is favored more than (-145) tonight. That means there are a couple of obvious targets for goalies and GPPs, but a lot of freedom after that. It makes for a night were DFSers can be a bit creative with their lineups.

Play Daily Fantasy Hockey on DraftKings Tonight!

As always, check Left Wing Lock for goalie confirmations.

Players will be in order of perceived value, by position, and there should be enough to mix-and-match for each type of game available on Draft Kings. Some positions might only have a few plays, some might have several. It all depends on the day, the matchups, and the price.

Remember: players are in order of value, not necessarily in cost. Just because Sidney Crosby is $8000 one day doesn’t mean he’s a better value than Andrew Shaw at $4000.

Cash Games

Centre Wing Defense Goalie
Spezza (DAL) – $5400 Benn (DAL) – $6500 Campbell (FLA) – $3300 Luongo (FLA) – $7700
Stamkos (TBL) – $9200 Connolly (TBL) – $3200 Demers (DAL) – $3300 Bishop (TBL) – $8700
Sedin (VAN) – $4100 Nyquist (DET) – $5000 Stralman (TBL) – $3100 Lehtonen (DAL) – $7500
Bjugstad (FLA) – $5000 Killorn (TBL) – $4100 Bieksa (VAN) – $3800
Thornton (SJS) – $4600 Marchand (BOS) – $4500
Soderberg (BOS) – $4400 Vrbata (ARI) – $6200
Bergeron (BOS) – $5800 Cole (DAL) – $3200
Zetterberg (DET) – $5700 Fleischmann (FLA) – $3500

  • Tampa Bay and Dallas should be anchors of cash game lineups tonight. They both have good matchups, Tampa Bay more than Dallas.
  • Boston is close to being a team to anchor with, but I worry a lot about lineup blending with that team.
  • Note that Erik Cole was skating on the second line at this morning’s skate for Dallas.
  • I will be hard-pressed to use a goalie other than Roberto Luongo in every cash game today.

Guaranteed Prize Pools/Tournaments

Centre Wing Defense Goalie
Stamkos (TBL) – $9200 Connolly (TBL) – $3200 Hedman (TBL) – $5100 Rinne (NSH) – $8200
Filppula (TBL) – $4300 Callahan (TBL) – $6000 Klingberg (DAL) – $4000 Ramo (CGY) – $8400
Spezza (DAL) – $5400 Benn (DAL) – $6500 Trotman (BOS) – $2500
Sceviour (DAL) – $2900 Cole (DAL) – $3200 Stralman (TBL) – $3100
Soderberg (BOS) – $4400 Eriksson (BOS) – $4000 Campbell (FLA) – $3300
Bjugstad (FLA) – $5000 Huberdeau (FLA) – $4300
Sedin (VAN) – $4100 Vrbata (VAN) – $6200

  • Tampa Bay, like cash games, could be a very good pillar for GPPs. There are any number of ways DFSers could expose themselves to that game.
  • Picking on Dallas is like Tampa Bay. It’s either go with the big guns (which includes the unmentioned Seguin), or expose through ancillary players like Sceviour and Cole.
  • It might not be a bad night to spend a bit extra on GPP defencemen. Hedman’s price has dropped, as has Klingberg’s.
  • I like Rinne a lot tonight for a GPP goalie.

Slim’s Pickins (bargain plays)

Cedric Paquette (TBL-C, $2500) – Has found his way to the third line with Val Filppula and Brett Connolly.

Tom Wilson (WSH-W, $2900) – Still on Washington’s top line.

Jakub Kindl (DET-D, $2600) – Running Detroit’s second power play unit, which includes the trio of Tatar-Datsyuk-Weiss.

Good luck!
