Tom Savage clearly isn’t ready to be a starting NFL quarterback, and Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched in favor of Mallett midway through the season. Quarterback guru Bill O’Brien is probably making quarterback his main area of focus heading into 2015.

Like Arians, O’Brien has the ability to turn even a raw quarterback into a productive one in his system. The question is who. Perhaps the Texans will extend a contract offer to Mallett and give him another shot. Perhaps Hoyer, who was with O’Brien early on in New England, is an option.
